Disk Cleaning and Defragmenting
1.Go to your add/remove programs in control panel

4.go to properties click disk cleanup make sure boxes are checked and click OK.
5.when asked click delete files allow it to finish then then click tools tab click defragment now
6.go to your c: drive and click defragment disk
7.Note: I would recommend you defragment your hard drive on a regular basis about once a week when your drive becomes to fragmented, file load times get much longer

Anti Viruses
I recommend buying eset smart or kaspersky internet security. But there are some free options like avg and others. Be sure to download from a reputable company just ask a geek friend. Be sure to run a full system scan once a week. A anti-virus does you no good if its not used!!
NOTE: I do not recommend commercial firewalls in most cases windows firewall will be more than enough
